Is cleaning and sealing all your driveway needs?
If the blocks are sound but the drive looks tired, cleaning and sealing brings it back for a fraction of the cost of a new one. Terry jet washes it properly, re-sands every joint and seals it so it stays clean and the weeds stay out.
Who it suits
Any block paved drive or path that is grey with dirt, green with algae or sprouting weeds in the joints but still level. Indian sandstone patios with black spot. Fronts that were laid well ten years ago and have just been left. It is the right first job on a house you have just moved into, before you decide whether the drive needs anything more.
Who it does not suit
A drive that has sunk or rocked has a base problem, and no amount of washing fixes that. That is driveway repairs. If the blocks themselves are cracked and spalling, sealing will not hide it. Terry will tell you on the visit which of the three you actually need, and it is often the one that costs least.

How Terry cleans and seals a drive.
Washing is the easy part. Re-sanding and sealing are what make it last.
- You get in touch
Ring Terry or WhatsApp a photo of the drive or patio. He replies the same day with a rough idea and a day to visit.
- Terry checks the base
He looks at whether the drive is level and sound. If a section has sunk, he tells you, because sealing over a bad base wastes your money. Written price on the spot.
- Wash
Jet washed at the right angle so the joints stay in.
- Treat
Treated for algae, moss and black spot. Oil stains get a degreaser.
- Re-sand
Fine dry sand brushed into every joint and compacted. Any block that has come loose is re-bedded, on compacted stone if the base under it has gone.
- Seal
A breathable sealer applied on a dry day. Terry tells you when you can park on it again. Guarantee terms are written on your quote.

The area of drive, paths and patio. Doing the patio on the same visit is usually tidier.
How dirty it is
Algae, moss, black spot on sandstone and old oil each take their own treatment.

A loose block is re-bedded. A sunk section is a repair, and Terry will tell you before you pay for a wash.

How often should a block paved driveway be sealed?
Block paving needs a sweep, a wash when it needs it, and a full clean, re-sand and reseal every 3 to 5 years. You will know it is due because water stops beading on the surface.
Will jet washing damage my block paving?
Not done properly. Too much pressure aimed straight into the joints blasts the sand out and loosens the blocks, which is the common DIY mistake. Terry cleans at the right angle, then re-sands every joint and seals it so the sand stays put.
Can you clean Indian sandstone and porcelain patios too?
Yes. Sandstone is cleaned with lower pressure and a stone-safe treatment for black spot, then sealed. Porcelain rarely needs sealing but the joints and any staining are cleaned the same way.
How long does cleaning and sealing take?
Terry gives you the day count with your written quote. The drive is cleaned first and sealed once it is dry, so he books it around the forecast, and tells you when you can park on it again.
Does sealing stop weeds?
It stops most of them. Sealer hardens the jointing sand so seeds cannot get a root in, and the surface sheds dirt rather than holding it. After 3 to 5 years it needs another full clean, re-sand and reseal.
My drive has oil stains and green algae. Can they come out?
Algae and moss come off with the wash and a treatment. Oil that has soaked in for years may leave a shadow, but it will be much less obvious. Terry tells you honestly what will and will not come out before he starts.
