Every quote Terry writes gives the price and the same eight things every proper quote should, so you can hold it up against anyone else's and compare like with like.
The difference between two quotes is what is written under the price: how deep, what holds the edges, where the rain goes, and what happens if it goes wrong. If a quote does not say, ask.

Ten years on the workmanship, in writing.
Printed on your quote and it passes to the next owner if you sell. It covers:
- Drives sinking or rutting
- Edges moving
- Puddles caused by the slope we laid
- Resin coming loose from the base
- Slabs rocking
- Pointing failing
Where it stops
What the guarantee does not cover.
A guarantee is only worth something if you know where it stops. These are the limits, in plain words, and they are printed on the quote too.
- Damage by someone else, including a utility company digging it up.
- Oil and chemical stains.
- Natural weathering and colour change in the material.
- Ground movement from trees or subsidence.
- Surfaces not looked after as advised.
The blocks, slabs and resin also carry their makers' own guarantees, alongside ours.
How we build it
The spec behind the guarantee.
The guarantee is only as good as the build underneath it. This is what goes into a block paved drive, layer by layer, and what your quote will spell out.
- Paving blocks (50mm)Laid by hand in your pattern, cut tight to every edge, then fine dry sand brushed into the joints and compacted.
- Sand (30mm)Sharp sand levelled so every block sits at the same height and follows the gentle slope that carries rain away.
- Crushed stone (200-250mm)200mm to 250mm of crushed stone laid in layers and compacted with a plate. This is what stops a drive sinking.
- Firm groundDug out 250mm to 300mm, with the old surface and any soft ground taken away. A membrane goes down where the ground needs it.

Unique Driveways MK Ltd is fully insured with public liability insurance. Terry shows you the certificate on request.
- Ask every firm who quotes for their insurance certificate, not just a yes.
- Check the name on it matches the company on the quote.
- Check the company on Companies House. Ours is number 13339533, incorporated 16 April 2021.
If something goes wrong
One number, one person.
No call centre and no ticket number. The person who quoted your job and was on site while it was laid is the person who answers.

He visits and looks at it with you. He was on site while it was laid, so he knows exactly how your job was built.
- A straight answer
He tells you whether it is covered and why. If it is, we put it right at no cost to you. If it is not, you get a written price to fix it.
Questions people ask about the guarantee.
How long is the guarantee?
Ten years on the workmanship, in writing. The full wording is printed on your quote before you sign.
Is the guarantee in writing?
Yes. It is written on the quote you sign and handed over again when the job is finished. If a firm will not put it in writing, it is not a guarantee.
What does the guarantee not cover?
Damage by other people, like a utility company digging up the drive, oil and chemical stains, natural weathering and colour change, ground movement from trees or subsidence, and surfaces not looked after as advised. The full list is on this page.
What happens if my drive sinks?
Ring or WhatsApp Terry with a photo. He comes to look, tells you straight whether it is covered, and if it is, puts it right at no cost to you.
Are the materials guaranteed too?
The blocks, slabs and resin carry their maker's own guarantee, which sits alongside ours. Terry tells you which products he is using on the quote.
Does the guarantee pass to the next owner if I sell?
Yes. The guarantee goes with the house for the rest of its term, and we give the new owner a copy on request.
Are you insured?
Fully insured. Ask Terry to show you the certificate on the visit, and ask every firm who quotes for the same.
